marshall-bruce mathers vu le jour un certain 17 octobre 1972 a kansas city (U.S.A).Après un départ difficile dans sa vie, à commencer par l'abandon du foyer de son père deux mois après sa naissance, sa mère Debbie assumera seule l'éducation du petit Marshall. Cet abandon ne sera jamais pardonné à son père; on retrouve à maintes reprises dans les chansons d'Eminem des allusions peu valorisantes adressées à son attention. Même si depuis le père d'Eminem a essayé de recoller les morceaux quand il sut son fils célèbre, ce dernier a refusé de le revoir en lui déclarant qu'il lui avait par le passé envoyé des lettres, restées sans réponses pendant son adolescence. Marshall a également un petit frère nommé Nathan.il passera toute son enfance dans les banlieus , detroit ..

A l'âge de 17 ans, il décide d'arrêter l'école pour se consacrer entièrement au Rap. Il participe d'ailleurs à un émission sur une radio de Détroit, où il est félicité pour sa performance. Il se fait désormais appeler Eminem.
Il devient a ce moment là (si on peu le dire comme ça ) chanteur

Les relations avec sa mère étant de plus en plus difficiles (Debbie est souvent dans un état second, car elle consomme énormément d'antidépresseurs et de calmants), il en profite pour aller vivre ailleurs. Eminem enchaîne alors des petits boulots pour gagner sa vie, mais profite de chaque temps libre pour rapper. Enormément motivé, il monte sur scène pendant les concerts ayant lieu à Détroit pour se faire connaître, mais se fait souvent expulser. Kim et lui divorcent en 2001. Il arrive quand même à obtenir la garde de sa fille, qui est tout pour lui, et à qui il veut donner l'enfance qu'il n'a pas eu.

hailie .... Kim met au monde une petite fille prénommée Hailie Jade Mathers le 25 Décembre 1995, ce qui redonne de l'énergie à Eminem. Il recommence alors à travailler ses textes. hailie est blonde au yeux vert c'est le bohneur d'Em' elle à aujourd'hui (en 2008) 13 ans
